2013 Update:

Update to be posted soon!

2012 Update:

As some of you may already know, Whiskey Run Creek officially changed ownership in mid-January 2012. Change can be scary for many, but for all of our loyal customers, the change should not even be noticeable as Ron has been involved in managing and producing the wine for many years now which made for a seamless shift in ownership. You may see a few more faces around the winery if you have ever been by before, but most of those faces are family.

Ron's wife, Sherry, works as the City Clerk in Auburn but comes over to help during the weekends and special events. Their oldest daughter, Heather, recently moved back to Nemaha County with her husband, Mike, and their son, Ethan. Heather is a CPA and Instructor of Business at Peru State College so most of her assistance comes with the financial side, however you might spot her behind the tasting counter & register on weekdays when Ron needs to be off-site. Mike works full-time for the State of Nebraska, however he can be found assisting in the production facility or behind the tasting counter on the weekends or during special events. Heather and Mike both have some website maintenance experience so one of their projects has been to work on the website update. It has taken a little time to get familiar with the coding, so please bear with us as we get the website updated. (Ethan is a little too young to do much at the winery, but I guess you could say he helps provide customer entertainment when his mom and dad are helping out at the winery or when they just stop by.) The middle child, Amanda, has a degree in Fine Arts and lives in Lincoln. Amanda has an eye for photography and has created some very beautiful marketing publications for the winery. Since she is currently living in Lincoln, you might also spot her at various wine tasting events that we are participating in. The youngest child, Matt, has taken a big interest in all of the parts of the business. Matt definitely has his dad's passion for "farming" and is active in assisting in the grape production process, as well as the production of wine on-site. Most days you will be able to find Matt either in the family's vineyard, in the production building, or behind the tasting counter. As time goes on, Matt is planning to assist with more of the wine tasting events so you could also start seeing him at those in the near future as well.

John Lauber, though not officially family, is still a part of our Whiskey Run Creek family. John takes care of a lot of our relationships with the retail establishments and restaurants where you can find our wines. We realize that not everyone can make a trip to Brownville after they open that last bottle of Whiskey Run Creek wine, so if there is a location you frequent for wine purchases, please call or email us if they don't carry our product so we can call them for you.

2012 ended up with possibly a record setting grape harvest for the families who provide us with grapes for the wines. Most of the grape varieties that are used in making our wines experienced a significant increase in production so we have been quite busy making wine. Many have been wondering for months when one of our customer favorites, the Riesling, would again be available since it sold out so early in Spring/Summer 2012. Good news for you! At this point we are anticipating that Riesling should make a reappearance on our shelves (and in stores) at some point in late November or early December 2012 once our 2012 vintage is ready for bottling.

At the end of September 2012 we will be celebrating 10 years of being in business. We are planning to have quite the celebration, complete with musical entertainment, discounted bottles of wine, and even introducing a new wine. We think that this new addition to our wine selection will be quite popular and invite you to come down and give it a try.
